Who am I?
Designer. Partner. Parent. Volunteer.
How did I get here?
Amy Chan Design was founded in 2001 in Portland, Oregon. My passion is to shape and transform your ideas and dreams into well-designed, attractive and functional materials that help you succeed.
My current volunteer work supports Portland Public Schools and non-profit arts organizations. I served as Membership Chair of the
AIGA Portland chapter from 2003-2006. AIGA is a national professional design association that serves to assist mainly designers, but also businesses and governments in understanding the role of design and encouraging professional business practices.
Prior to founding Amy Chan Design, I was a senior designer & production artist in the San Francisco office of Pentagram Design for 12.5 years, where I worked on annual reports, corporate brochures, paper promotions,
@Issue Journal of Business and Design, and other print collateral.
Thanks to a stellar group of colleagues, I've gathered certificates and lucite trophies from Western Art Directors Club, Potlatch Annual Report Show, Print's Regional Design Annual, Communications Arts, The San Francisco Show Type Directors Club, The Rosey Awards, and AR100.
Earlier I was employed as a production artist at a signage firm, and as a typesetter and assistant manager at a small print shop, both in the Seattle area. In college (BFA, Columbus College of Art & Design) and prior years I worked at an art museum, a trucking permit agency, a home loan lender, and--my favorite story to drag out for the kids--a green onion farm.
